DIY Confetti Tape

The other day when I was looking at the Amy Tangerine pre-orders from a online scrapbooking store, I saw confetti tape. Wow I thought those are really cool but I had sticker shock. 3 12" pieces for $5, I could make that myself.

So I went into my box of scraps and with my regular old hole puncher from the office supply store, I decided to make it.

I cut 1/2 in strips of 12" paper and ran it through my xyron machine.

Using my hole puncher, I punched lots and lots of small circle. If you think you have enough, do more, this uses alot of those little circle. I used the basic colors of red, yellow, green, and blue. It's up to you what colors or patterns to use.

Then take your strip of sticky paper and sprinkle the confetti onto it. Don't worry, you won't get it all covered. I then used mod podge and painted the strip of confetti. Sprinkle more confetti onto the strip. Then very carefully take your brush and dab more of the mod podge onto the confetti.

After a few hours of drying, I have this beautiful and much cheaper confetti tape.

This was fun but messy and I love messy thing.

  2. I just love that you did this. Thank you so much for sharing this idea. It gives us something to do and it is so much cheaper than buying it. It has the added bonus of being made for a particular LO so it can match or highlight or contrast as the maker wishes. You rock! Bib aka 1grandma.
