Mini-golf

It's that time of year when my parents takes Quincie to the ocean.  Of course there is always a game of mini-golf.  Quincie has a tendency to cheat at the game, but hey don't we all sometimes.  I just wished those coursed gets a little modern update to them.  Those statues are so out of date, but still fun to look at.

I used the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for my layout. I decided to use pink, black and white because of the clothing in the pictures.

Seagulls!!!!!!!!!!

When Quincie was little we went to the store and she dropped her pringles in the parking lot.  The seagulls came over really quickly and started to eat the chips.  I tried to drag her away so we would not get attack but she just stood them and cried.  Since them we always joke about the army of seagulls attacking us.  Her grandparents to her to Ocean City, MD last week for a mini vacation.  I saw this picture and I thought it was hilarious because it looks like the seagulls are attacking her again.

Adventure time!!!!!!

Chalk is this week's theme at Child's Play Challenges.  I knew when I saw the bright colors of the chalk on the black background that it is going to be an easy challenge for me. 

So that is what I did, used the colors and matted it with black cardstock.  I also thought that the paper I used reminded me of chalk drawings.  I also decided to use the diy thickers.  Got into the stash of flock and boy was it fun making a mess on the table. :)

Wild One

For my newest layout I merge the  new challenge at Child's Play Challenges and Black With Two monthly challenge.  Over at Child's Play, the book challenge was "Where the wild things are", well that was easy.  Just come to my house.  Blaze is the wildest animal we have right now.  Then at Black with two, it was of course the black background with blues and whites.  I loved that color combo so it was easy for me to do.

The Birds of Summer

One of the new challenges at Child's Play Challenges is The Cozy Coupe or the red and yellow play car.  Yes, I never knew it was called that.  I had a hard time getting the inspiration for my layout.  I'm not a big fan of red and yellows and I don't have any car pictures.  At first the car reminded me of summer and summer reminds me of baseball.  When we went to the Raven softball game a few weeks ago, the Ironbirds mascots were out having fun.  So that is what I decided to do, use the picture of Ferris and Ripcord.  Well, I wanted to use a kit that I won a couple of months ago, and there were reds, and yellows in there.  I added the color blue and I think it worked out wonderfully.

Child's Play Challenges is having a DT call.  I missed out on the very first call but days.  I found out about the site the day after their DT call closed.  So I have been waiting and waiting for the next call and now it is finally here.  I really do enjoy doing the challenges there each week, so everyone wish me luck!!!!

So this is the DT call inspiration toy.  Instead of thinking "outside the box" I went for "outside the circle".  My picture is inside the circle and the "balls" are on the outside. This is a picture from the beginning of the month when we went to the Raven's charity softball game.  It was so much fun.  We did not get any autographs but I am really looking forward to the game next year.
